About Us
Echoes in the Attic is a Canadian, mompreneur-run company making eco-handbags from XS textiles diverted off the path to landfill. Echoes rescues approx. 500 pounds of gorgeous designer and post-manufacturing remnants every 2 weeks, re-envisions and re-designs it all into their eco-clever handbag line. Echoes is available in approx 100 exclusive shops and eco-boutiques across North America as well as a busy on-line webstore. Their eco-handbags have been featured in countless national magazines such as: Home & Country, Canadian Living, Style at Home, House and Home, LouLou, The National Post, Being Well to name a few. In June '12 they were dubbed CANADIAN ORIGINALS by CTV National News and in the same month won the 2012 Bradford Board of Trade award for Social and Ecological Responsibility.
Their GREEN ethos carries through to their manufacturing with a team of professional home-sewers working in the factory-free setting of their own homes located close to Echoes HQ in Bradford. Echoes commitment is to find ways to use what we already have by diverting the landfill, reusing and reinventing, casting a vote for 'local' with every dollar spent, using only animal-friendly, vegan materials and remembering what mom always said, "Don't throw THAT away, it's perfectly good!"
