About me...
I have been a bookkeeper for approximately 11 years. My clients have included gourmet food manufacturers, food distributors, heavy equipment sales/service, entrepreneurs, corporate psychologist, language translator, auto mechanic, printing company, moving company, etc. These have all been small to medium businesses with sales ranging up to $1.5M, and 3 - 30 employees. I typically do either partially or all of the daily/monthly sales receipts, accounts receivables (including collecting), bank deposits, invoice entry, inventory, cheque preparation, online bill payments, bank and credit card reconciliations, WSIB payments, HST filings and payments, payroll (including payroll registers, staff tracking, cheque preparation, ROE), source deductions, yearly T4's, and annual financial preparation for submission to accountant.
These services vary depending on the size of the company. My larger clients have other employees who do some of these aspects of the business. I can also run quarterly, monthly, yearly reports. I have also prepared financial comparisons for clients approaching banks for loans or other forms of credit. The services do vary from client to client.
I am a bookkeeper and will work with your accountant or one that we mutually agree upon. I do not currently do taxes.
I have represented clients for a payroll audit with the CRA and a WSIB financials audit.
The software program I use is QuickBooks. I also use a couple of additional programs that include Data Management; these are typically industry driven. (Lankar, PFW)
Recently, I have developed a relationship with 2 additional bookkeepers who assist me with a select clients. This has allowed me to take on new clients and additional responsibilities with some others. It also provides me with back-up support.
Before becoming a bookkeeper I worked corporately in the computer and engineering industries. I began as a trade show manager and worked my way up through a couple of companies to the position of Director of Marketing. I left the corporate world behind 13 years ago.
I have been very happy with my choice in bookkeeping as it was a natural fit and I could still use my corporate experience to benefit my clients.
I have been living in Bradford for the past 14 years. My client area covers Collingwood to as far south as Richmond Hill and west to Rexdale. At least half of my clients I work on remotely from my home.
Before I would be able to commit to an estimate for any business it is necessary to speak with the client to determine their needs. If the client wished to continue with day to day entries but wanted someone to do monthly reconciliations and reports we can make that arrangement as well. It can be dealt with in many ways and depends on how much is done by someone in the clients company.
